My Review of Willow Creek Golf & Country Club

Let me start by saying this is one of the nicest looking courses I’ve played. I played years ago,

and finally made it back over the summer. Some holes I played really well, some, well…. I’m

surprised I’m not still there. I’ll go over some of the highlights.

The first hole has 2 traps along the right side, so my ball dutifully caught them both. It still

didn’t end terribly as I managed to save bogey. Hole 2 has a huge bunker, 2 strokes in there. I

saved 6! It is a deceptive hole, it looked like an easy 9 iron shot, it just didn’t carry. Three

turned into another hole going from bunker to bunker. If the point was to be in the sand, I’d be

doing great! On to the 4th, I’m back on the beach. I managed to save par.

The fifth hole is a fun par 5. Something went wrong, I missed all of the bunkers and the water.

I walked away with a bogey. The 6th hole was a watery mess. Any run for coming in under 100

was gone. On to the 7th hole, back to the beach. It ended poorly. The 8th hole went well. I

missed the water and traps, easy par. The 9th hole I could have used a boat.

So we’re on to the back 9. 10th hole, with the water on the left, managed to get another par.

The 11th hole I would have been more productive building a sand castle. 12 I needed scuba

gear. Good times. 13 was just long, I somehow avoided the water. Don’t worry, I found the

water on 14. On the 15th hole, I went from sand to water, decided I lost enough balls and it was

game over. I took a look at 16–18, it looked like another sleeve would have been sacrificed if I

kept going.

As I stated, the course is beautiful and well maintained. It is just way over my ability. As far as

the 19th hole goes, it is a very nice bar and restaurant. Though the menu was limited due to

covid, it was a good selection.
